TCS Walk for Water

Last year I went to Ecuador on a service trip with the organization Me to We. It was a life changing experience for me and I learned so much about myself and the world. I did not realize all of the things I took for granted and considered to be small were so difficult for others to obtain. One thing that really shocked me was the lack of clean water. While I was on this trip I met a man named Don Bargas who had lost a daughter to a water borne illness. This tragedy motivated him to write to his government and request that more resources be allocated towards getting clean water. Unfortunately nothing was done and he had to wait over 10 years before the WE organization heard his story and finally brought clean water to his village. 

I was supposed to hold a water walk on the 4th of April at Trinity College School in Port Hope, Ontario in support of this cause. However, current circumstances have prevented this from happening on the scheduled date. I am hoping to reschedule the event but as for now donations are still being collected for the cause. All profits will go to the Me to We foundation and it will be specified to go towards giving people in developing countries access to clean water. On this date we will be carrying jugs of water and walking 5 kilometres to symbolize almost the average distance that people in developing countries must walk to get clean water. We will be collecting cash donations at the event. However, I understand that not everyone can attend so if you would like to donate, please contribute on this page! 

Any amount of money can help but let's take a look at what the amounts of money can do!

$25 can provide one person with clean water for life
$250 can provide a family of 10 with clean water for life 
$1000 can provide an entire community with water for life 
$5000 can provide a new clean water system for a school
