Hey! I am Ivanka Beriwala, the founder of TCD Giving. My team members are Sara, Matthew, Bela, Annie, Mariacarla, and Luna! Let us tell you about what TCD Giving is and how you can help out. The Corporate Diwali Giving (TCD Giving) is a youth led, diverse, community service, organization.

We started giving in November 2020 due to a recent passing of a family member, which encouraged us to design this program in REMEMBRANCE. Almost 3 months ago, I lost my first grandparent, my beloved grandma, Mrs. Shyama Mundhra. It was an untimely shock to my family and I. Especially my mother who lost her mom. It was a traumatic experience as it was my first time losing a person I cared so deeply about. Knowing how much I hurt, I could relate to the other teens who were in the same boat. This is why we are led by youth leaders, and why we offer certifications of recognition to them for their service.This is a platform to serve & commemorate our loved ones by uniting diversity through food

What We Do:

At T.C.D. Giving, we make home cooked, vegetarian, and Indian meals every Diwali and Thanksgiving. Recently, we have expanded to the Hamptons and Syracuse.

Food helps us connect with our roots while practicing proper hygiene measures. Our individual food boxes contain of Rice, Lentils, A vegetable, Basic salad, and a Sweet desert.

The food is then delivered to the homeless shelter(s) we choose to provide for that specific year

At the shelter, T.C.D. Giving volunteers help set up, supply, warm the food, and serve it. Small conversations are made with the residents of the shelter at this time

Last year we served 200 food boxes, this year our goal is to serve 500.
