Taylor’s Urgent Unexpected Medical Journey
Donation protected
This is my sister, Taylor Shogran. She’s a 27 year old single mom who has been hospitalized for the past two weeks. What began as a visit for simple medical issues quickly turned into something far more serious. During her scheduled surgery to remove her gallbladder, the doctors discovered she has an extremely rare and life-threatening genetic disorder called malignant hyperthermia.
This condition, triggered by the anesthesia used during surgery, causes dangerously high fevers, rapid heart rates, and severe muscle contractions. Thankfully, the medical team recognized the signs early and stopped the surgery in time, potentially saving her life. She was intubated and placed in a medically induced coma for two days. She is awake now. However, she still needs to undergo surgery to remove her gallbladder, and the road ahead remains uncertain.
Taylor is now facing hefty hospital bills on top of the challenges of healing her body and regaining her strength. As a devoted mother, her biggest concern is being able to care for her son, Oliver, and return to work to support them both. Any help big or small will go a long way in covering her medical and living expenses, giving her the stability she needs to focus on recovery and her son’s well being. Thank you for your kindness and support!
