We have been given permission for 3 large murals to be painted on walls within Taunton Independent Quarter. These murals will be painted by renowned local street artist Sam Gaden aka Aerosol Art. Sam is responsible for numerous artworks around Taunton including the cricketer on the Viridor Building, the staplegrove bridge and most recently the “Mother Earth” mural (#WeAreHere in collaboration with GoCreate and Rights:community:Action) on the side of the multi storey car park.
With each of Sam’s murals comes a fantastic addition to the Town….Art adds colour, interest, talking points and quite simply makes people smile!!
The more street art we can add to Taunton the better, creating a memorable feature for the Town’s visitors and adding interest to the Town for our residents, over all making the Town more attractive and inviting- benefitting our local shops and businesses.
There is a cost involved for this project, both for materials and Sam’s professional work and this ‘Go Fund Me’ page is to help raise the funds to enable the project to take place.
I know that a lot of people care greatly about the Town and would like to see the town centre improved visually. My hope is that the community can make this happen…a small donation from many people will add up quickly, every pound will be spent on improving the area with these murals.
The 3 locations for the murals are :-
1. Lower Middle Street - side wall of ‘My Carbon Coach’
2. Foundry Road/St James St - side wall of ‘Howard’s’
3. Foundry Road/Riverside at Coal Orchard - Side wall of Nicky’s flower studio
Please help me to make this happen by giving what you can. If you are a local business who believes the Town can be improved and you’d like to be a part of the change then please do donate. If you’re a local resident who loves to see the art around the town then view this as an investment for future smiles when you visit. For less than a cup of coffee and a piece of cake you CAN help to make this happen.
Any money raised above the amount can be used for future projects.
Thank you so much for reading and thank you in advance for being a part of something brilliantly positive for Taunton.
