Tiffany and Trey are facing a parents worst nightmare. While vacationing in the Outer Banks earlier this summer, their perfectly healthy two year old daughter began having difficulty walking. It worsened over the next couple of days and became nearly impossible. The only way Tatum is able to ambulate at this time is by using a walker to balance herself or with assistance. She has undergone multiple tests including MRI, CT, Lumbar Puncture, and genetic testing, along with long hospital stays and & multiple doctors appointments. These test and appointments will continue now that we have an unimaginable diagnosis that we are determined to beat. Tatum has been diagnosed with a rare mitochondrial disease called Leigh Syndrome, affecting 1 out of some 40,000 children . She is set up for physical therapy twice a week in Richmond, follow ups frequently with her specialists at VCU, and everything that will come with fighting this ugly disease. With all of this comes huge financial responsibility,  unbearable emotional stress, and many days missed from work traveling long distances back and forth.

This family and their children are so extremely special to me and my husband & to so many people that I know. I would love to help them through this incredibly difficult time. If you can find it in your hearts, any amount, there is none too small, will help them in this battle for their precious little girl. And above all else, if you can’t donate - PLEASE just pray.  Pray every day.  Miracles do happen, and God is capable.
