Aloha, I am Leonahe Crivello, Tashia Manabas sister and I am writing on her behalf. For many years, Tashia has been living with radiculopathy and carpal tunnel. She first began asking doctors for help back in 2011, but her concerns were brushed aside. By 2017–2018, the pain had grown severe, and in Las Vegas two years ago, doctors finally diagnosed her with radiculopathy.
In 2024, a nerve test confirmed the seriousness of her condition: she had lost about 80% of the nerves in her left arm and 60–70% in her right arm. The doctor told her she would never be able to do hair again — something she loved and built her life around. This news broke her heart and mine as well.
What She Lives With- Tashia’s pain is constant and unpredictable. Some days it feels like she has no blood circulation, and other days it feels like she’s being stung by bees from the inside out. At night, the pain is so intense that she sometimes wakes up screaming. Her teenage sons and her boyfriend, Kaprice, often wake up with her — massaging her arms and legs, walking with her around the house, and even taking her into the yard in the middle of the night to try and restore circulation. Their love and support keep her going, but I see the heavy toll it takes on them as well.
Why We Are Asking for Help- Tashia is scheduled for carpal tunnel surgery this Monday on her right arm, followed by two more appointments on Oahu. While surgery and travel are covered, the biggest struggle is with recovery and basic living expenses. On top of this, Kaprice has had to take time away
from his job to care for her, which has left the family financially strained.
As a family, we have tried to hold off on asking for help for years, carrying this burden quietly and doing our best on our own. But at this point, the need has grown too great for us to manage alone. We are humbly reaching out now for support, so that Tashia can focus on healing while her loved ones continue to care for her.
With Gratitude This journey has been long, painful, and humbling. Through it all, our faith lies in Jesus Christ, and we know that He will heal her through prayer. We ask not only for donations, but also for your prayers — that you would lift Tashia and her family up during this difficult season. Every prayer, share, and gift makes a difference.
On behalf of Tashia and her family, thank you for walking with her in faith and helping her carry this burden.
With love and gratitude.
Leonahe.
