Tashane Byrds Thanksgiving Donation

On June 4, 2013 my family and I suffered a great loss. My son, Christopher Tashane Byrd, was tragically taken from us. These past three years have been filled with difficulty, emotional struggle and some healing. Through this unreal reality, my husband and I thought of ways to kick off a long list of charitable things to do in our sons name. We cannot let his death be in vain. In 2013 we struggled with ever having another Thanksgiving. However, Thanksgiving was Chris’ favorite holiday. If you knew him you knew he absolutely loved to eat. We decided to start there. That same year we gave an entire meal to a family in his name.

My youngest son attends an awesome school that creates baskets for families that need help for the Thanksgiving holiday, ST. LUKE SCHOOL in the Bronx. As I look around and see how people are suffering but still manage to maintain either for themselves or for their families, I think about how easily it can be one of us. It is with great pleasure that I ask that we do more. We are asking for donations to help fill the Thanksgiving baskets.

The money that we help raise will 100% go to the items that are needed to create the baskets the team at St Lukes are putting together. If all that you are able to donate is prayer then prayer is what we will take! Anything that you are able to donate is appreciated from the bottom of our hearts.

I will post the receipt for the items purchased as well as any pictures taken.

Please note that if you are a family that needs a bit of help this Thanksgiving please contact me and I will absolutely make sure that you receive a basket. I will do it with discretion and honor.
