Tarpon SGA Water4Life Mozambique Fundraiser

Charlotte High School Student Government Association is holding a fundraiser for local charity Water4Life Mozambique.

Remote, rural areas in northern Mozambique often face water insecurity: the nearest sources of water for many towns is often several miles away and can be unreliable.

Many people who live in these areas are deprived of a proper amount of drinking water to live and deprived the opportunity of working or going to school as a result of having to spend so much of each day retrieving the water from these unreliable, often unfit for drinking, water sources.

Water4Life Mozambique is a Punta Gorda based nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization that works to eliminate this problem by drilling water wells in public spaces, usually churches, in these northern Mozambican towns, bringing the water to them.

This is accomplished through monetary donations and the cooperation between the Punta Gorda team and the Mozambique drilling team, who actually drill the wells themselves.

As of November 1, 2023, Water4Life Mozambique has drilled 328 wells serving approximately 393,600 people. Tarpon SGA asks you to please contribute to our goal of raising $6900, or the effective cost of creating one well, to help provide more people in Mozambique, where it is the hot summer time right now, with safe, clean drinking water that is often taken for granted.
