Help Me Raise £3,000 for Autism In Racing

On 28th October 2026, I will be taking part in the Autism In Racing Fundraising Race at Nottingham Racecourse.

My name is Tara Murphy and I am 23 years old. I work full-time as a work rider for Charlie Appleby Racing, where I have been for the past year and a half.

I have been incredibly fortunate to grow up around ponies and horses, spending many years eventing from Pony Club through to representing at the Young Rider European Championships two years ago. Horses have always been a huge part of my life, and I am proud to now be combining that passion with raising money for such an important cause.

Why I'm Supporting Autism In Racing

Over the last few years it has been fantastic to watch Autism In Racing grow and see the difference it is making across our sport.

From creating dedicated autism-friendly spaces at racecourses to opening up opportunities for autistic and neurodivergent people to build careers within racing, the charity continues to make our industry more welcoming, accessible and inclusive for everyone.

I am incredibly excited to be taking part in this race and hope to raise as much as possible so Autism In Racing can continue expanding its wonderful work and supporting even more people across British racing.

Working alongside racecourses, industry partners and families across the UK, Autism In Racing delivers autism-friendly racedays, mentoring programmes, community activities and practical resources that help more autistic people engage with and enjoy our sport.

Funds raised through the Autism In Racing Fundraising Race at Nottingham Racecourse on 28th October 2026 will help the organisation continue expanding these initiatives, ensuring even more autistic people and their families can experience racing in a welcoming and supportive environment.
