Tanzania maternity supplies

Hello, our names are Lucy, Eva, Chloe and Lauren, and we are a group of second year student midwives who will be visiting Tanzania in July 2026 for a 3-week medical elective placement, and would appreciate your help.
Many women still give birth without the basic medical supplies that make childbirth safe. The country’s maternal mortality rate remains among the highest in the world, with hundreds of mothers dying each year from preventable causes such as infection, bleeding, and complications during labour. In 2023, figures as high as 276 per 100,000 women died during childbirth.
In many understaffed clinics, healthcare workers are forced to reuse gloves, lack sterile delivery kits, or turn mothers away because there are not enough beds, medications, or newborn supplies.
With your help, this fundraiser will provide critical maternity items, such as sterile gloves, bedding, newborn care supplies including nappies, cotton wool and hats, and maternity items such as sanitary items and toiletries—so mothers can give birth with dignity and babies can take their first breath safely.
Your support is not just a donation; it is a chance to save lives and give families hope at the moment it matters most.
Please donate anything you can to help us save lives and make a difference to mothers and babies at a time they need it the most.
