Kids / Novice OHV Education Area
Donation protected
We are raising funds to complete the Kids Novice Off Highway Education Area at the Tamihi Creek OHV Staging Area in the Chilliwack River Valley, British Columbia.
Ever since I was a kid (1960's) there has never been a safe place for me , or the kids after me (2014) to learn how to ride a motorcycle or quad. The old days of learning from the school of hard knocks, back and forth on the back lane or construction site are gone. Sure there is the odd gravel pit, but you have to share that with the shooters, heavy trucks and garbage.
No Place for a Kid or Novice to learn here
Then there are the Forest Service Roads, not only is it illegal for kids to ride on FSRs but its really dangerous with all the other traffic.
Who thinks a 150,000 lbs truck and a Kid on a dirtbike or quad is a good idea?
So the dilemma continues, you want your kids to learn to ride and respect motorized recreation, but have nowhere to learn.
Until NOW
The Tamihi OHV Staging Area is nearing completion,
now we have to add the Kids Novice Off Highway Education Area and Trails.
The Heavy work is done, we have secured funding through the Province of BC Sites and Trails . They have committed $25,000.00. We have already 2,000.00 committed from the three local volunteer clubs; Right Nuts ATV, Greater Vancouver Motorcycle Club and DualSportBC . We also have the support of the two Provincial Off Road Federations ATVBC and BCORMA
The project comes with a price tag of $64.980.00. We have applied for additional funding throut the NTC and if that is approved we will only need approximatly $12k to complete the project
We are looking to the off road motorized communty to help us make up that shortfall.
We dont expect you to just donate and hope the project gets done. The entire project will be accountable to everyone. Mangers for this project are 100% volunteer.
