Tamara's Birthday Fundraiser for Friendship Park

Hi everyone!

This year for my birthday, instead of gifts, I am asking y'all to donate to Friends of Friendship Park. This is a local organization that is doing everything they can to save Friendship Park. Friendship Park/El Parque de la Amistad is a binational park located where the Mexico/U.S. border meets the sea on the West Coast.

This park has a huge significance for families in both San Diego and Tijuana. Over the years, the historic site has become a meeting place for families on both sides of the border separated by immigration matters. For some, it was the only place where they could be reunited despite being separated by the border fence.

While El Parque de la Amistad remains open and in full use in Mexico, the U.S. side has been closed since 2020. As the years go on, it looks less and less like a park that is meant to celebrate connection and family and more like a prison.

Please consider donating to Friends of Friendship Park so they can keep doing the important work of advocating for increased public access to the park.
