Tamara Wilson Help to Independency

Hi my name is Gerri McCorkle, I’m enlisting help from friends, family and all those that know Tamara Wilson and her family! About 6 months ago Tamara made the step into an independent living program to prepare her for the future. Tamara is intellectually disabled and the purpose of why I’m involved in this community so passionately. I coached Tamara when she was 5 years old in T-ball along with my daughter Erin. I have watched Tamara grow into the young woman she is today. Independent and kind. All that know her love and adore her.

In this Independent living program she is surrounded by a team of supporters to guide her through this journey. Tamara moved into a rental home, all was going along smoothly, Tamara was flourishing, however the owner had personal circumstances that had to change the month to month rental agreement. Because of this she is forced to move out and seek new housing arrangements. California rent is astronomical and having to acquire the first and last move in costs are beyond difficult for her parents who themselves have limited resources Tamara has a small state aid payment which contributes to her living expenses.

I’m hoping that with a little help from many we can help assist with this move and continue to lift Tamara up! Any amount will help and with many hands, we all can give her this opportunity to thrive.
