We’re Taking on the National Three Peaks Challenge!

A team of 13 from CrossFit Buntingford are pushing our limits by tackling the National Three Peaks Challenge—climbing the highest mountains in Scotland, England, and Wales in just 24 hours!

We’re doing this to raise money for two causes that mean a lot to us:

SOFT UK – Supporting families affected by Trisomy 13 (Patau’s Syndrome) and Trisomy 18 (Edwards’ Syndrome).
Ward Freman Swimming Pool – Helping to reopen this vital community facility in Buntingford.

These causes are close to our hearts, and we need your support to make a difference! Every donation will help us on our journey and bring much-needed funds to these incredible organizations.

Please donate and help us make an impact!

SOFT UK
In the UK every year, 3 in every 10,000 births are affected by trisomy 18 (Edward’s Syndrome), and 2 in every 10,000 by trisomy 13 (Patau’s syndrome). They are the most common form of trisomy after Down’s syndrome and can cause a range of learning difficulties and congenital abnormalities. Depending on the severity of abnormalities, many children with trisomy 18 or 13 will be stillborn or pass away shortly after birth. Only 5-10% of babies will see their first birthday.

Understandably, receiving a diagnosis - whether during pregnancy or after birth - can be incredibly challenging and lonely for parents and families. Knowing the best course to follow during pregnancy or how to care for a poorly child isn’t easy. But SOFT UK is there to help.

SOFT UK is the Support Organisation for Trisomy, offering free, confidential support and resources to families navigating this journey - regardless of experience - from diagnosis, through pregnancy, termination, caring for a living child, and bereavement. It is run primarily by volunteers - mostly parents who have first-hand experience of Edward’s or Patau’s and any funds raised through charitable donations go back into supporting people when they need it the most. Along with this, raising awareness of the conditions to educate health professionals and therefore improve care and outcomes for children is a vital paradigm as there remains a lack of understanding of the spectrum of the conditions leading to a lack of personalised care for my many children.

Thank you for supporting this small, but vital charity. Your donation really does make a difference.

Save Ward Freman Swimming Pool – Bring Our Community Pool Back to Life!
Ward Freman Swimming Pool has been at the heart of Buntingford for over 50 years, providing a vital space for schools, families, and the wider community to learn, swim, and stay active. In December, East Herts District Council closed the pool, citing the high costs of necessary upgrades.

We are determined to save this much-loved facility and bring it back into community ownership. Our goal is to raise funds to help cover the costs of refurbishment and ensure the pool remains open for generations to come.

This pool has been more than just a place to swim—it has been a hub for local schools, a lifeline for those learning water safety, and a cherished part of our town. Without it, Buntingford loses an essential space for fitness, well-being, and connection.

We need your help! Every donation, no matter the size, brings us closer to reopening the doors. Your support will go directly towards the necessary upgrades, maintenance, and securing the pool's future.

Let’s work together to keep Ward Freman Swimming Pool part of our community. Donate today and help us make a splash!
