Hi, my name is Kristina, for those of you that know my family and I, you know we have been going through alot and experienced significant loss, losing my mom and grandfather at the end of 2020. Our mom was our rock, and our grandfather was the only consistent man in our lives our ENTIRE LIFE. It has been hard on our whole family but unfortunately hit my sister the hardest and after 7/8 years plus in recovery and kicking sobriety in the butt, she relapsed and everything went down hill from there.

Unfortunately this led to her 3 beautiful boys being taken and placed in state custody. I pray for my sister everyday in the fight for recovery and finding her sobriety and getting back on her feet sooner than later because she has 3 beautiful boys that I know mean the world to her but either way she has a long road ahead of her. Unfortunately until then my 3 nephews are the ones who have suffered the most. They have gone into the system and been in a few different foster homes and right now are placed with a nonrelative foster mom, this was a temporary placement and as of the 1st of the year is no longer an option. They cannot find a family to take all 3 so after a lot of thinking and talking with my fiancé, nephews, my children, current foster mom and case worker, we have decided to take in my nephews. This will make us a family of 9, 2 adults and 7 kids in a 3 bedroom 2 bath. This being said we will have to build an addition to our home. We are willing to do what ever we have to too make sure our nephews don’t stay in the system and are never split apart or uprooted again. The only reason we didn’t do it sooner was one not having the space, which we will make, and two when they were first taken I ended up in hospital with more blood clots in my lungs so health wise was not in the position to take them.

I have had many of our friends and family reach out asking how they could help the boys or what they needed and at the time I didn’t know because they were just with me temporarily. Well now that we are taking them permanently we need help adding a room and furnishing it for the boys.

I love and appreciate each and every one of you that have reached out checking in on our family or asking how you could help. Just knowing the love and support we have is amazing and appreciated more then you’ll ever know! if my mom was still here she would’ve taken the boys no questions asked, so I know this is what we should do.
