TakeItDown.Org Remove Confederate Monuments

Today we announce the creation of TakeItDown.Org, a nonprofit dedicated to the removal of every confederate monument, memorial and tribute from public land in America by 2021!  https://takeitdown.org

Most Americans can agree that the confederacy was traitor organization set to destroy this country, all for the purpose of maintaining the enslavement of Black Americans.

Yet, 155 years after America defeated the confederacy, monuments, memorials, and tributes to the failed traitors cover our PUBLIC lands, meaning Our tax dollars go to preserving these disgraced homages.

TakeItDown.org envisions an America where Black children are not forced to play in the shadow of these monuments supported by public dollars, in their own neighborhoods and city parks. Isn’t it time we end government welfare for the traitorous, defeated confederacy?

We are organizing in every state with confederate monuments on public land in America. We are taking our fight to the state houses, town halls and main streets to remove every confederate monument, memorial and tribute from public land in America by 2021.

The founder, writer and former civil rights lawyer, Earl M. Johnson Jr., is the son of the Late Earl M. Johnson, attorney for Martin Luther King Jr., in the 1960s Civil Rights Struggle.

Please note that TakeItDown.Org is a registered nonprofit corporation, Take It Down, Inc.
