Picture it, it's kindergarten and you just want everyone to like you. Then you meet this girl who you end up in a battle with over a toy cash register. And then 43 years of friendship later; babies, divorces, many jobs, and a lifetime of shit going right and wrong, you find yourselves with a stopwatch counting down the remaining days.

In early July of this year, Rebecca received a diagnosis of Young Onset Alzheimers which is a rare, degenerative and terminal illness. Her medical team have given her less than 10 years of life but given the progression of her disease, the remaining time is looking much, much shorter.

Having been a single parent raising two incredible children, her life has been devoted to staying sober (15 years! Holy shit, that's a big deal) while giving them the best life she possibly could. Those kids have grown into bright, accomplished adults and are well on their way to living full, rich lives. However, to do that, it has meant that Rebecca hasn't been in a position to experience things like travel - something that is easy to take for granted. Any single parent can relate to the sacrifices and dedication to doing our best for our kids.

I want to create a beautiful, relaxing travel experience for her to a small town in Mexico called Mahahual where she can soak in the ocean, eat gorgeous food, rest, explore, and create memories. I want this so she can savour the experience and I want it so I can hold onto the memories in my vast bank of life experiences that we've shared over more than 4 decades.

No matter how much I'm able to raise with this fundraiser, I will take her. But this extra amount will allow me to spoil her with spa trips, maybe a photo session, tours and other special things while in Mahahual.

She and I have seen each other through A LOT over the years and I'm absolutely devastated that we know her time is coming to an end so young, I'm grateful to be in a position to plan this for her (for us) to remind her of just how alive she still is.

I will try to share updates as best as I can. Once we get the trip booked, I will definitely share that with you so you can share our joy. Also, she is aware that this is being planned and I have her consent to do this.
