To anyone reading this,
We are the residents of Success Village, a cooperative apartment complex in Connecticut, facing a severe crisis. Our community of 924 units spans Bridgeport and Stratford and is managed by a Board of Directors. However, since 2022, the current Board President and Property Manager have failed to pay essential bills, leading to issues such as no heat, no hot water, and collapsing walls. Our property taxes, gas, water, and sewer bills are unpaid, and we owe approximately $1.5 million in taxes. We are at GREAT risk foreclosure by September 2024.
The Board President is using our funds for legal battles against board members who are exposing these realities, instead of addressing our community's needs. Despite our community voting to remove the current board, the President has refused to step down from this Unpaid/Voluntary position. We desperately need funds to hire a lawyer to legally remove the current Board and property manager and establish a new management team to resolve our financial crisis.
Our community is diverse, with residents of all ages and backgrounds. We need your help to save our homes and ensure basic necessities. Please donate and help us take back Success Village. Thank you for your kindness.
