We normally wouldn't ask for this type of help but it's time we humble ourselves  and do.

At our 28 week ultrasound doctors found something was wrong with Jasper. His heart had not developed correctly and he would be born with a heart defect. The heart defect is called Hypoplastic Right Heart Syndrom (HRHS).  He will require      immediate intervention when he is born and more than likely have open heart surgery within days or weeks of him being born. We were advised to be ready to deliver at a hospital capable of dealing with any complications that the baby may have. So, we packed up and moved to be able to do just that.

Since October 11th, I have been on hospital bed rest for hypertension. And will be here until the baby is born at 39 weeks, in mid November. Because of this, Morgan put his second job on hold after we got the news that it wasn't safe to go home. This had to happenso that Morgan and my Mom could take care of Weston, which I am normally around to do.

Originally my due date was October 26 and Morgan and I made plans accordingly but being on bed rest in the hospital improved my condition so much, doctors decided to wait as long as possible to deliver. This gives Jasper a chance to grow as much as he can before any surgeries are done once he is born.

Although being in the hospital has improved my condition, it has created some unforeseen stresses at home. We are now down to one income and finding ourselves with a few extra expenses and barely cutting it.

The plan was to work until Jasper was born and be able to take a few weeks off from the second job giving Morgan an opportunity to see Jasper in NICU and CICU. Now we are dealing with having to take months off from that second job.

Once Jasper is here, we aren't sure how long he will be in the hospital recovering from surgeries or waiting for the next surgeries to happen. It all depends on how well he does. For us, this means being split up for longer and extra traveling and expenses so that one of us is by Jasper's side when he is in the hospital and the other is with Weston.

We need help with being able to have the financial ability to breathe easier.  Not being able to work that second job has hit us harder than we imagined. Any help will also go towards making sure Morgan can take a few days off to help me recover from surgery and see Jasper those first couple days while he is in NICU. Because of covid, Morgan and I will have to take turns seeing Jasper separately.  Through this admission, Morgan has not been allowed to see me until I am in actual labor and I haven't been able to see Weston either.

The last couple months have been difficult to say the least, from relocating, starting new jobs, dealing with new doctors and what felt like endless doctor appointments. Being away from Weston and Morgan because I have been in the hospital and will be for another couple weeks has created its own difficulties as well. And then there is us, coming  to terms with what our future will look like having a baby with a special condition.

We greatly appreciate anything that comes our way and are already so thankful for everything that has happened. But we need a little help during these difficult times to make sure our growing family can make it through these next couple weeks.

Thanks,

Taisha and Morgan
