There’s a small taqueria here in Roseville called Taqueria Maria, located at 709 Cirby Way, Roseville, CA 95678. It’s owned by a hardworking married couple, Raul and Maria, who pour their hearts into every single plate they serve.
Raul is the cook — the man behind the grill, working long hours to make sure every taco, burrito, and quesadilla comes out just right. Maria runs the show — taking orders, greeting customers, managing the place, and keeping everything running smoothly with that warm, welcoming smile she’s known for.
Their food is the real deal — flavorful, authentic, and made with love. It’s the kind of local spot that deserves to have a line out the door every night. But like many small family-run restaurants, they don’t have a marketing team or a big advertising budget — just grit, pride, and hope that word of mouth will keep them going.
That’s where I come in.
I’m raising enough money to buy a taco costume and a large, eye-catching sign to promote Taqueria Maria. My plan is simple: stand on the street corner near the restaurant during the dinner rush, dressed as a giant taco, holding the sign high for passing commuters to see. It’s fun, it’s creative, and it’ll get people talking — and hopefully hungry!
I’m not doing this for me. I won’t make a dime off it. The only reward I’ll get is the satisfaction of helping a couple of hardworking people get the attention and business they truly deserve.
Every donation will go toward:
A quality taco costume (gotta look the part!)
A custom-made sign advertising Taqueria Maria at 709 Cirby Way
Any leftover funds will go straight to Raul and Maria to support their taqueria
If you believe in supporting local small businesses and acts of community kindness, this is a simple way to make a big difference. Let’s help Raul and Maria grow their business and keep serving up the kind of food that makes this town special — one taco at a time.
Thank you for helping me help them. Stop by Taqueria Maria — you’ll be glad you did.
