I have been working with a group of local volunteers and members of the local community to host a free youth football event during the October half term, with a big purpose behind it.
The aim is to support young people in our community by tackling antisocial behaviour and promoting positive mental health through sport and wellbeing activities.
As part of the Gamechanger Project, we’re organising a free football tournament, ending in a family-friendly final on 2nd November 2025 – the Harrison Lynch Cup – held at Maghull FC.
This event is being held in memory of Harrison Lynch, who passed away in 2023. In honour of Harrison, we want to raise awareness around the issue of youth suicide and highlight the power of sport, teamwork, and connection in supporting young minds.
We’re proud to be raising funds for PAPYRUS – the national charity dedicated to the prevention of young suicide. Suicide is the biggest killer of young people under 35 in the UK, with over 1,800 lives lost every year.
PAPYRUS offers confidential advice and support through HOPELINE247 – their life-saving helpline for young people and those worried about them.
Just £15 can help fund a potentially life-saving contact. All funds donated directly to Papyrus in full once this page closes.
We’d love for you to support this event and help us raise vital funds for PAPYRUS.
Your donations truly are changing – and saving – lives.
Thank you.
