My name is Abdulkadir Adan and known as Macalim Xiito. I'm Minneapolis resident and have been blind since 2012. I was diagnosed with Diabetes that caused me to be blind. I live in Minneapolis Minnesota.
I lost 100% of my sight. Since that time, life has been an uphill struggle for me. The loss of most of my eyesight resulted in life-changing and disastrous consequences. Suddenly, I was no longer a self-sufficient independent person and contributing member of the community. Before I lost my eye sights, I was the founder of Xiito Academy, an after-school program in the Twin Cities. Teaching is my passion and many families and students benefited from Xiito Academy.

But the reality is my passion for teaching and enriching kids have not disappeared along with my sight. Currently, I offer an after school tutoring classes in a small space in the Cedar-Riverside neighborhood and would like to expand to make room for many kids who need assistance. This will not only give me an ability to offer education for the kids and be self-sufficient, but will also boost my self-confidence and self-esteem as someone who is giving back and contributing to the community.
The school will benefit and the young children I am teaching. In the beginning before full registration is complete the rent is due, the money coming in cannot cover the total cost of the building this is sad because I cannot see and had minimal ability to do anything about the situation. Today I am asking the public for support to support my vision and school because if it wasn't for the little activity I am doing called teaching kids I would be really sad today.
This means a lot to me and the students I am teaching your donations will help us go very far. Please donate whatever you can any dollar will help go towards to school and the future of these students.
The funds will be used to keep the school going, Until we get a healthy number of enrolled students to cover the cost.
