We are going to be parents!! Our surrogacy Journey!!
Our journey began 7 years ago when our beautiful baby boy Mason passed away. He was 5 days old. We struggled with physical and psychological recovery for over a year before we were able to begin thinking about having another baby and build our little family. For the years to come, we sought fertility treatments and different procedures in the hopes of getting pregnant again, but unfortunately, whatever we tried did not work out the way we had hoped for. In spite of all these failures, we remained determined to plow forward and try to reach our dream of having a family. In the end, we resolved to try IVF and we finally achieved success in the making of little embryos! WOW! This was so exciting and overwhelming, and it made us extremely happy after facing 5 years of failures. Following several embryo transfers, we were faced with more failures and were told by our doctor that we couldn’t do it on our own anymore. We had to find an alternative method to have our baby or stop trying. There aren’t many ways to do this; either we adopt or we find a surrogate to carry our child for us. We opted to try surrogacy and after looking for 2 years, after offers and disappointments, we finally found the one and we are now extremely proud and so happy that we have a little wigglepot growing furiously in our wonderful surrogate’s womb. She is our Wonder Woman. We still can't believe it. After so long, we are this close, excited and scared to death.
Over the years, all these procedures have taken a tremendous toll on our finances and all our life savings have disappeared. We have recently been faced with a series of unforeseen expenses, largely exceeding our surrogacy contracted budget, due to several factors including a medical condition affecting our surrogate which will now require her to remain off work for the duration of the last trimester. In order for us to get through all these unforeseen expenses, we are humbly seeking any financial aid we can receive to help us get over these hurdles.
We will forever be grateful for the ongoing support of our families and friends, and for all the good people we have met during this journey as we look forward to begin our next one: parenthood!!!
Thank you all for considering making a donation.
Sincerely and with eternal gratitude,
Nic and Shannon
