Volunteer Trip to Galapagos

Donation protected
I am a 15-year-old sophomore from the DC/MD area interested in exploring the world!  My goal is to go on a volunteer trip to the Galapagos Islands to work at a tortoise sanctuary, learning different ways to preserve wildlife, and experiencing the country and culture of Ecuador. I’m currently taking Spanish and hope to improve by immersing myself in the language.  I derive from Caribbean roots and diverse cultures have always been a part of my life.  Whether it is eating pollo guisado or eating a burger, my family always adds our native country’s spin on things.

Although I have grown up in Caribbean culture, I’m also curious about other cultures such as Indian, Central American, and Middle Eastern. I love immersing myself in new culture.  When I do, I’ve always met interesting and welcoming people who kindly share their heritage. Meeting new people and understanding others is how you create unity and spread love. Going on this trip, I will be able to learn new culture and help conserve wildlife in one of the world's hotspots. I need $ 5,000 in 30 days, which is when the tuition is due.   If I get the opportunity to go on this journey, I will make sure to take you all with me in the form of pictures. I will take pictures each day and send a link to everyone who participates.  Thank you all for the support and love.
