Let’s help Robert establish his independence!

This fundraiser is being organized by Summer Steel and Camille Roper on behalf of the Cunningham family and Robert.

Robert, a 17 year old boy, has recently been forced to leave his childhood home due to parental abuse and continued threats to his safety. He has been taken in by a classmate/friend’s family who have sought & gained emergency guardianship of him in order to legally provide him with support and a safe living environment while he finishes his last year of high school.

The life-threatening circumstances behind Robert fleeing his home forced him to leave behind all of his belongings, all of which his abuser has since destroyed or hidden. He had, at the age of 16, single-handedly built a thriving tree trimming business with a steady clientele; his equipment, truck, and trailer alone are valued in the thousands of dollars. All of it must be replaced along with any and all basic necessities of a teenage boy- clothing, shoes, school supplies, sports equipment, etc. In addition, his legal fees are already extensive and will continue to increase as more legal action is required. As such, Robert and the family supporting him find themselves in need of help to continue this journey to his independence.

 

Despite having lived in circumstances most of us can’t imagine, Robert has maintained good grades, is an accomplished athlete, a hard worker, and an extremely determined young man. Any support is deeply appreciated; all funds will serve to replace Robert's belongings, pay legal fees, and establish a financial support for his future.
