Help Lucy to advocate for her rights at university

I'm raising funds on behalf of a friend, Lucy*, who needs to pay legal fees to advocate for her rights against her university.

Lucy is an asylum seeker and abuse survivor who got a place at university after facing many barriers. Whilst at university, she has faced sexual harassment. When she tried to report this using university procedures, she faced a backlash from friends of the perpetrator, and a lack of response from the university. She has experienced institutional racism and misogyny at the university during this process and is now fighting to hold them accountable and keep herself safe. She is also being faced with precautionary suspension during the process.

She has needed to access legal representation to support her in this hostile and difficult process. Due to the legal aid crisis in Scotland, where she is based, she has had to go private. She has been paying from her university bursary, which is minimal, and she cannot afford to do this anymore.
