Justice for Dale – Help Protect a Disabled Man from Financial abuse
My name is Freddie Blake, and I am fighting for my brother Dale — a gentle man with dementia and physical disabilities who has been exploited for years by our sister Sheila, his so-called caregiver.
After our mother passed away, Sheila gained his trust and began managing his affairs. Instead of safeguarding his well-being, she used her position to take control of his money, property, and even his mail. Over time, she:
• Embezzled over $80,000 from his accounts
• Opened extra bank cards in his name and racked up personal expenses
• Put her name on his home so he cannot sell it
• Redirected his mail so he/we wouldn’t see bank statements or bills
• Pressured him into signing documents, including a life insurance policy naming her as beneficiary
• Used his disability checks for her own personal gain
I have gathered proof, including bank statements and transaction records showing Sheila depositing a $40,000 check into Dale’s account and then moving funds to her own. The financial institution recommended reporting this to the police, and we have filed a report. Authorities are aware, but without legal representation, we cannot fully protect Dale or recover what’s left.
Why I’m Asking for Help
To pursue justice, we need to hire a lawyer and forensic accountant immediately. Estimated legal fees: $6,000+. Every dollar raised will go toward:
• Legal representation for Dale
• Forensic investigation of his finances
• Filing actions to recover stolen assets and protect him
This past October, I brought Dale to Florida with me. For eight months, he thrived — gaining clarity and helping with home projects. In Alabama, he sits alone all day. This is not the life I want for him.
Sheila arrived unannounced and took Dale back to Alabama, claiming that the property taxes have not been paid, taxes she failed to pay due to her theft, leaving him defenseless.
This is my last resort to stop the harm and hold her accountable. I have nothing to gain personally — my only goal is to save my brother and honor my conscience.
If you can help through a donation for this movement to bring hope for future disabled dependents falling victim to such a heartless criminal act, or by sharing this story or offering prayers, you’ll give Dale the justice and safety he deserves and peace to mom.
From the bottom of my heart, thank you.
Fred Blake
