My brother Sam, his wife Emma, and I (Katie) are taking on the Sea-Ice Half Marathon Classic in Luleå, Sweden — run entirely on frozen sea ❄️ with an average temperature of –10°C. It’s going to be a bit “slape”, extremely cold, and full of friendly rivalry (and probably some colourful language).
We’re doing it to raise money for a community cuddle bed for families needing end-of-life care support in the East Riding — something that would have made a huge difference during Dad’s final weeks at home.

Dad was fiercely competitive and never let us win, and it’s safe to say Sam and I have inherited that. Emma has laser focus and is a qualified PT, so we suspect she may quietly wipe the floor with both of us. We’ll be putting in full effort over the next few weeks of training — not just to complete the half, but to be as fast as possible.
Every donation gets us one step closer to helping other families stay close when it matters most.

Thank you to everyone who has donated, shared or offered support so far. As of 19:40 on 4th January the total collected between this, the kids readathon and Dads memorial fund is £5883. A massive achievement and nearly 40% to the total in just over 2 months !!it would be fabulous if we could get half way £7500 by the end of February.
Please share our story and ridiculous challenges Xxxxx
