Paying Off Grandma's House

Hi everyone!

I'm Adrienne. Anyone that knows me, is also lucky enough to know my grandma - one of the kindest, sassiest, selfless people you could ever have the pleasure of knowing .

She is such a huge part of my life, and has accepted me as one of her children since the day I came into this world.

Her life has not been an easy one. Married young to an abusive husband, she mothered 3 children alone. She worked nights at the hospital for 25yrs to afford everything, and would come home to take care of everything right afterwards. Making sure everyone got fed and to school. I know this because she did the same for me too when my mom needed the help .

On top of this, she constantly goes out of her way to help people in her community. She is the 'old lady' of her neighborhood. She can tell you anyone's name that walks by the house (including any family members) and, of course, the name of their pets - which she often gets to know before the people themselves, she is the pet sitter on her street for anyone that goes on vacation, she is the gardener for neighbors that can't take care of things themselves....she is the neighborhood grandma too.

Above all else, she has a passion and a soul for helping animals - just like me! Over the years we've taken on countless rescues/strays and she never, ever hesitates. She is always there with love, compassion, food and warmth for them.

Since retiring a while ago now, she has still been non stop. Helping to raise her 5 grandchildren, being there for anyone when their lives fell apart to lend a helping hand, being the one to put you in your place when you needed it, and everything under the sun. This woman is the very definition of the word 'home'. She puts her family before herself every time - even if this means her going without or sacrificing.

Because of this, she is still left with a mortgage that should have been paid off long ago - but helping out was always more important to her. She has dreams for renovating her house that she always put on hold to help someone get the loan they needed for a car, or to help them catch up on bills or with emergencies. She has never taken a vacation, or splurged on herself, because spoiling her grandkids and making sure they had what they needed and wanted and that they had fun was worth more to her.

Now, in her 70s. I just want the woman that has always done so much for everyone else, to do something for her. To be able to enjoy her retirement with the time she has and take some of the load off financially.

If you know my grandma, and she has touched your life in any way, perhaps you could find it in your heart to donate, or pass on the story . She deserves more than I, or her family, could ever repay her for, but if everyone comes together, great things can happen! I've seen it .
