T1-Tied Together is an initiative created by The Sun Rose Project to create no-sew, tied blankets both with fleece and upcycled t-shirts to be donated to Diabetes Camps which I hope to partner with shortly!

The more money we make, the more blankets we can make

to give back to the diabetes community!

I have had Type One Diabetes since I was 14 months old, almost 20 years! We spend a large amount of our time as diabetics in medical centers or offices, working with caregivers and independently to manage so much more than just insulin intake. One community I greatly relied on growing up was my diabetes camp each summer; my favorite part was feeling less alone, less 'different,' and more understood.

Receiving a blanket from a diabuddy with the simple goal of connecting me and my family to my diabetes community, connecting me to resources or advocacy opportunities, or just simply to brighten my day (with my diagnosis and experiences in mind) would have made a big difference in my pediatric diabetes life.

I hope to do my part in giving back by tying together my T1D community through T1-Tied Together.

Your money will be used for purchasing fleece to create the blankets! My goal is to make 30 blankets by the end of May!
