Hi, my name is Fernanda Trejo. On the night of April 5th, strong winds and heavy rain caused a massive tree to fall and crush my best friend Jancy's home. It was a trailer, vulnerable to the damage from the tall surrounding trees. Tragically, during the fall, Jancy's father was lying on the sofa and was crushed beneath the tree and roof. By the grace of God, Mr. Trejo survived and has received medical attention.

However, Jancy and her family have lost their home, their belongings, and their sense of security. Even though Jancy and I share the same last name, we aren't related, but she feels like family to me. I love her deeply; she's such a kind soul. It breaks my heart to see her and her sweet family, including their cat Chiki, struggle during this difficult time. They have lost everything. Clothes, school supplies, and their home.
