Thousands Flee Venezuela Every Day. The People Helping Them Are About to Disappear.
✨Let’s support the leaders who never stopped showing up.
3,000 New Refugees a Day. 52% of Front-Line Responders Are About to Close.
More than 3 million Venezuelans have already crossed into Colombia. And every single day, another 3,000 arrive—fleeing hunger, persecution, and political violence, carrying little but hope.
When they arrive, they turn to us—Voices Of Venezuela —and to the refugee-led organizations we’ve helped train, support, and stand beside since 2019. Our work alone has already helped over 1.5 million people find food, shelter, legal aid, and a way forward.
But now, with major aid fund programs disappearing, over half of these organizations are at risk of shutting down within 90 days.
If they disappear, families will lose their last remaining safety net.
✨From a Kitchen Table to a Lifeline for Millions.
In 2018, we began helping other refugees from a small kitchen table in Colombia—packing food, hygiene kits, and medicine for families who had nowhere else to turn. We also began recording interviews and using art and media to help tell their stories.
From there, we connected people to shelter, legal aid, and basic care, then listened. Again and again, we heard the same thing:
“I don’t know where to go. I don’t know what to do.”
What began as a small family effort became Voices of Venezuela—now recognized by the United Nations, trusted by millions, and built around one belief:
“Everyone has the right to rebuild their lives with dignity, and no family should face displacement alone.” Nery Santaella - Founder.
✨ We Are Ready For What’s Next.
Voices of Venezuela's core is innovation; we have combined media, technology, and community building into a program that the United Nations recognized with the Changemaker Award, chosen from over 5,000 nominations from around the world.
We’ve helped over 1.5 million people through direct information, education, and support. But the next phase of this crisis needs a stronger approach: a network of refugee-led organizations that can carry this work forward, in their own voices, for their own communities.
That’s why Voices of Venezuela is evolving—from a direct-response platform into a civil society accelerator for refugees across Latin America, and we already started training and equipping over 150 of them.
We’re not closing down. We’re scaling up. While the official systems failed, refugee-led and grassroots organizations rose to meet the crisis, providing legal aid, shelter, trauma support, and trustworthy information, and you can make a difference alongside us, too.
✨What Your Donation Makes Possible.
We’ve shifted our focus from emergency response towards building long-term impact.
Now, we’re scaling to support the people already serving their communities, with the tools, tech, and training they need to keep going.
We need:
$60,000 to sustain our Colombia network for the next 12 months in response to the withdrawal of humanitarian aid.
$150,000 to expand our network to additional CSOs from across LATAM.
“We’ve helped over 1.5 million people. We’ve done it lean, with love, and efficiency—while protecting the dignity of both our staff and the communities we serve.” Nery Santaella - Founder.
✨Where Every Dollar Goes.
Your generous donation will equip refugee-led and grassroots organizations from our network with training and networking to help them move away from survival towards self-sustainable philanthropy models. Donate whatever feels right—every dollar is lean, trackable, and transformative.
