Syracuse Marathon 2022 for Meningioma Mommas
Tax deductible
My mom was diagnosed with a Grade II Meningioma brain tumor this last February. For those who aren't aware, meningiomas are a type of brain tumor found mainly in women that typically compresses upon or squeezes the brain, thus impacting its function. The mass was on the part of her brain that impacted her ability to speak, read, and write along with other effects. My mom has since undergone major brain surgery to remove the mass followed by long months of recovery and radiation. It was a humbling road to watch her work to regain those fundamental capabilities. And an even further humbling experience to witness the sheer strength and patience that she showed in doing so.
This Sunday October 16th, I will be running a marathon in dedication to Meningioma Mommas. I am running this race in the effort to deliver just a fraction of the strength that my mom and all other meningioma warriors display on their road to recovery. I have chosen Meningioma Mommas as they not only raise awareness and funding for meningioma-specific research, but also to provide the support and resources for impacted families in need.
It would mean so much if you could help me spread awareness by sharing this page, and any size donation is greatly appreciated! I am so incredibly grateful to have my mom healthy and in my life, and I just want to take the opportunity to raise funds for research and all families similarly impacted as mine.
