The African proverb ‘it takes a village to raise a child’ still rings true.
The parents at Southside Young Leaders Academy (SYLA) are asking you to be part of our village and help raise future leaders by donating today.
Southside Young Leaders Academy addresses social and educational inequalities by empowering Black African and African Caribbean boys through a programme of character education, life skills, and academic support to foster the skills, resilience and leadership required to pursue positive life paths.

To celebrate SYLA’s 15th anniversary, on Saturday 1st July, parents, friends, and supporters of SYLA will gather as a community for a sponsored walk at Burgess Park in Southwark. We invite you to join us on the day to raise funds or make a donation to help us reach a target of £15K.

The funds raised will contribute to educational and enrichment activities on SYLA’s Young Leaders Programme, which includes business and enterprise initiatives, careers education, debating programmes, financial literacy, visits to universities and corporate firms, and cultural and media activities.
Be part of our village and together let’s raise boys to grow, achieve and become the next generation of business and community leaders!
