Hi, we’re BewareOfTheStep and are run by Omar and Cai, and we’re about to embark on the biggest adventure of our lives: walking 4,000km from Perth to Sydney, all to raise awareness for mental health and show that with determination, anything is possible.
Our Journey
Starting from Perth on 28th February 2025, we’ll be walking across Australia—through deserts, over mountains, and along rugged coastlines—to reach Sydney. It’s a journey that will take months of grueling effort, but we’re doing it for a cause that’s close to our hearts, mental health.
Why We're Doing This
We all know that mental health struggles can feel isolating, invisible, and overwhelming. Whether it’s anxiety, depression, or other challenges, far too many people suffer in silence. We want to break the stigma and start a conversation, encouraging others to open up, seek help, and support one another.
This walk isn’t just about physical endurance; it’s about mental strength. We want to prove that, no matter how difficult or impossible something may seem, you can achieve it if you put your mind to it. We’re walking for those who feel like they can’t take the next step. We’re walking to remind everyone that mental health is just as important as physical health, and taking small steps toward healing is always worth it.
Why Your Support Matters
We’ve set a goal to raise funds for mental health organizations that provide critical services, including counseling, support groups, and awareness campaigns. These funds will go toward helping those who need it most, and every donation—big or small—will make a difference.

What Your Donations Will Go Towards
- Mental Health Services: Funds will go to organizations that provide therapy, mental health resources, and support networks for those struggling.
- Awareness Campaigns: Help us educate and raise awareness about mental health, breaking down barriers and reducing stigma.
- Our Walk Expenses: Travel costs, gear, and supplies for the 4,000km journey (we’re walking, but we still need to eat and sleep!).
