In August 2025, I’ll be running the Sydney Marathon—26.2 miles of pure challenge and determination. This will be my 7th Abbott Marathon Major race and 9th marathon in total! But I’m not just doing this for personal achievement. I’m running to help launch something close to my heart: The Amedu Foundation.
The Amedu Foundation is a charitable initiative focused on breaking the cycle of poverty through education. We aim to support talented young people from underprivileged backgrounds in Nigeria, giving them access to scholarships and grants that can change their lives. In addition, we also aim to support educational institutions in such sectors with educational resources.
Though we’re still in the process of registering as a UK charity, the Charity Commission allows us to raise funds as long as they go directly toward our charitable objectives. Every pound raised will go toward:
• Educational scholarships and supplies
• Donating Educational materials and resources to schools in need of such.
I’m asking for your support to help us get off the ground. Whether it’s £10 or £100, every donation will make a meaningful difference.
Together, we can turn this marathon into a movement.
Thank you for believing in this vision.
— Ugbede Amedu
