Dear friends and family,
As many of you know, I’ve been working extremely hard to achieve my goals in the dental profession, and with much of your love and support, I’ve gotten some of the best training over the past 2 years at UCSF. Now it’s time to use these skills to help those in need around the world.
This summer I will be embarking on, NOT ONE, but TWO mission trips to provide dental care to the people of Ensenada, Mexico and Ocho Rios, Jamaica. As some of you know, one of the main reasons why I joined the Navy was to be able to serve my country by traveling and providing the best care worldwide. I plan to begin this journey with these two upcoming trips.
About the trips:
I will be spending 5 days in June and 9 days in September in Mexico and Jamaica, respectively, with fellow dental students and supervising dentists. Patients in these areas have very limited to no access to dental care, so we try to see as many of them as possible in the time that we are there.
We plan to work tirelessly in the clinics there to provide the treatment that these people are in dire need of, including cleanings, fillings, extractions and oral health education. We will also travel to local schools to teach the students about oral hygiene and health.
We plan on seeing children and adults of all ages so that no one is left without care.
How you can help:
In order to bring this care to Ensenada and Ocho Rios, there are project fees, fees for shipping dental supplies and travel costs.
Your donations will help change the lives of countless patients, and every little bit counts! I’ve grown up with the values that we must be with and for others, meaning that we have to gain a true understanding of the needs of others in order to truly help them. With your help, we can help brings smiles to people around the world!
No donation is too small! Whether it’s $1, $10 or $20, every bit would go toward achieving my goal.
