Hello all, I am LaShelle a social worker for 22 years. In the last two years I landed in Early Child Development to assist in molding children ages 0-5. While attending school to earn more credentials I became extremely ill and checked myself into the hospital in October where I remain to this day.

A little bit of back story, I was given my childhood home from family after the death of my father. During this time our family grew, adding our 2 month old dog “Leo”. Due to unforeseen circumstances my family soon gave me notice that the property would be sold leaving my family homeless. I was able to secure an apartment for my twin 13 y/o boys and Leo. While transitioning to a new start and a new environment in October I became extremely ill with no known discharge date.

During this time I’ve been unable to provide for my family due to the inability to work and earn wages. My children were sent with their father. Leo was sent to family where he unfortunately ran away.

As I sit here bedridden awaiting my 26th surgery this has been a long painful emotional process. Upon discharge I will have nowhere to go and needed rehabilitation for and extended amount of time. I started this page to ask for assistance for a fresh start for my children. During the 8 months that I’ve been hospitalized I have missed a host of significant moments and events. Including the children 8th grade graduation. Having a safe and nurturing environment means the world to me so that my family can be under one roof again.
