“Life is like a rainbow, sometimes dark, sometimes light.
MamaSuze brings the light.”
Hi everyone,
I am fundraising for a cause close to my heart - on my first ever Aquathlon, a sponsored Swim & Run on Friday 11th July 2025 at Vobster Lake, Somerset. It is a 750m swim around the lake, followed by 5k run.
All donations will go to Mamasuze.
✨ Mamsuze is a creative organisation, working to enhance the lives of survivors of forced displacement and gender based violence via weekly workshops in different art forms.
Led by an all-female team, Mamasuze works with artists and specialist facilitators to provide a welcoming, joyful space where women can socially interact, be creative and play together, strengthening confidence, resilience and identity. Weekly sessions consist of warm up exercises, art, drama and movement. Children are cared for nearby so their mothers can relax into the group.
You can read more about their brilliant work, and download the Mamasuze 2024 Annual Impact Report here
Very sadly, the Mamasuze community is now reeling from the sudden loss of their co-founder Annabel Rook in June;
"Annabel Rook was a shining light who dedicated her life to supporting others. Co-founding MamaSuze to bring joy, creativity and vital casework support to marginalised women and children, she lived every day with passion and purpose, believing that we must be the change we want to see in the world.
We will all remember the warmth, connection and dedication she radiated and try not to fall into despair, but continue her vital work at MamaSuze and live our lives as she did, with joy, integrity and grace."
My wonderful friend Catherine, who is a Co-Founder and Director of Mamasuze, will be continuing their work, keeping their vital sessions running.
Mamasuze's work with vulnerable women is needed now more than ever.
Please donate to help me to support them. Many thanks
