Swimming the English Channel for Louis & Jack

On the 27th of September 4 (1 as a solo crosser, me, and 3 as a relay team) of us will be embarking on swimming the length of the English Channel at the Charlton Lido.

That is 34km which is 1360 lengths of a 25m pool!

I (Joe) will be swimming the whole thing, whilst Henry Howell, Weed (Andy Digweed) & Beth (Beth Walmsley) will be splitting the distance between the three of them.

For me there will be no breaks apart from to scoop food in to my mouth (or if my body requires me too) and it will be all front crawl. For Henry, Beth and Weed they will be swimming an hour each on rotation. Going by my current training I am estimating this is going to be an 11-12 hour swim.

The reason we are doing this is to raise money for the young kids of our beloved friend Will Howell, who lost his life tragically and suddenly last autumn.

Will was a unique, generous, hilarious, caring beam of sunshine who loved life. More than anything he loved his family and he has left behind his amazing wife, Emma, their 3 year old son, Louis, and their newborn Jack, who sadly Will never met.

All donations made will be transferred in to The William Howell Family Trust, which has been securely set up by solicitors, and will be used to contribute towards the boys health, education, leisure and home up until the age of 18.

Anything you can afford to donate would be much appreciated, nearer the time we will provide more information on timings and then if people want to come down and support or get in for a few lengths it would be much appreciated!
