Hi, my name is Sian, and I am raising money for Kidney Research UK in memory of my friend Tasha, and for my friend Holly who is battling stage 4 cancer.

We sadly lost Tasha October last year. She would be on dialysis multiple times a week, but that didn't stop her living her life to the fullest. She was an ambassador for Kidney Research UK, and would attend events as a speaker to tell her story and inspire people to not let it stop them. I miss her with all my heart, so half of the funds raised will go to Kidney Research UK in her honour.

The other half of the money raised is going straight to my best friend Holly. She was first diagnosed a couple of years ago with breast cancer, undergone multiple treatments, had a mastectomy, and we thought that we won the fight! But unfortunately it is back, and Holly now has stage 4 cancer. She has been told if she wants to do anything, to do it NOW while she still can before treatment makes her very poorly.

Holly has a loving partner Adam, and a young son Henry. Due to her diagnosis, they have decided to get married! So the money raised, will help towards anything they need to make memories they can treasure forever, or just to cover the bills so they don't have to worry while we go to battle for the second time to kick cancer's a**e!

I am determined to swim the length of Llyn Tegid/Bala Lake on Tuesday the 8th of September 2026 to push myself to my limit in honour of my 2 hero's. I have lost 6 stone in weight, and training hard to make sure I can get this done. Please donate whatever you can! Even the smallest amount means the world to me.
