Help Make Swim Éire a Reality

My name is Daragh Morgan, and I’m about to take on the biggest challenge of my life: to swim the entire coastline of Ireland.

But I can’t do this alone... I need your help to make it a reality.

This journey isn’t just about endurance. It’s about honouring Ireland its people, culture, stories, and the extraordinary beauty of the sea that surrounds us. It’s about experiencing this island in the most raw, immersive way possible: stroke by stroke.

Why Am I Doing This?

Ireland has always called to me. I’ve lived in many parts of the country, always close to the coast, and my connection to the sea runs deep.

I was a beach lifeguard later head lifeguard in Dunmore East, County Waterford. I’ve run the length of Ireland researching holy wells. These adventures have shaped me, but now I want to go deeper.

Swimming the entire coastline is my way of reconnecting with the land and sea and sharing that connection with the world. I’ll be documenting the entire experience: the highs and lows, the people I meet, and the rich, untold stories of Ireland’s wild coast.

What Your Support Will Fund

The greatest challenge isn’t the swim itself it’s making the expedition happen safely and sustainably. This kind of undertaking needs full logistical support, and that comes with serious cost.

We’ve set a fundraising target of €155,000 to cover:

Support Boat & Crew

A vessel that can safely navigate alongside me, carry supplies, and provide shelter.

Fuel & Operational Costs

Keeping the boat running daily, from harbour fees to diesel and maintenance.

Navigation & Safety Equipment

GPS, VHF radios, survival gear, wetsuits, dry storage, and medical supplies.

Food & Supplies

For myself and the dedicated crew supporting me every mile.

Permits, Licences & Contingency

Covering the required permissions and handling any unexpected challenges at sea.

This is a full-time, multi-month expedition across some of the wildest and most unpredictable waters in Europe. Every cent will directly support the logistics that keep the swim alive.

Once the core expedition costs are covered, all remaining funds will be shared between Daragh’s two chosen charities — the RNLI and the Simon Community in support of sea safety and homelessness services across Ireland.
