Swim for Mary❤️

Hi,after losing my daughter Mary to Cancer in June 2021 I have been inspired to take on challenges in her memory.In 2023 I cycled over 210 miles with 3 good friends from Inverurie Aberdeenshire to Dunoon Argyll and now for 2025 I will be taking on another big challenge - Swimming across the Firth of Clyde from Gourock to West Bay Dunoon, a distance of over 2 miles.(weather permitting)

I plan to leave Gourock Cloch lighthouse at approximately 11.45 am on the Thursday 24th July, hopefully the swim will take around 1/5 to 2 hours. I would love to see as many people as possible at the West Bay finish line to cheer us on as we cross the line. I will be joined by my brother-in-law Callum Cameron, with an amazing support crew by our side .

Again, as part of my commitment I will remain tee total until we complete the challenge (7 months off the drink) and cross the finish line at West Bay then to Sinbads the place where Mary worked, and which holds a special place in our hearts.

The 2 charities I have chosen for this challenge are again incredibly close to me and were involved with Mary during her journey. I want to support the local Cowal Hospice in Dunoon, which still needs updating to make it more comfortable and homely for patients and their families during difficult times.

The other charity I am raising funds for Macmillan Nurses who do amazing work providing care for cancer patients and have personally supported Mary my dad, my brother Campbell and cousin David (Booney)❤️

We still have Marys Day on the 26th of July which is an annual event where we also support other local charities.
