Swim a 750m race in the North Atlantic .
Hi everyone. I swam this race on the 14 Sep in rather rougher conditions than I would like. The time was 22:37 which surprised me as I was expecting to come in at around 25 mins. Amazing level of support from everyone. I cant say thank you enough. I'm going to keep the donations open for a few more days and then the money will all go off to cancer research. Maybe you or me could get cancer in the future and some of these funds will go to something that will save us. It's a nice thought anyway. I will keep up the swimming now that I have overcome the hard part and will be back racing next year looking for lower times.
Go n-éirí an bóthar leat
Go raibh an ghaoth go brách ag do chúl
Go lonraí an ghrian go te ar d'aghaidh
Go dtite an bháisteach go mín ar do pháirceanna
Agus go mbuailimid le chéile arís ........
Translated as .......
May the road rise to meet you
May the wind be always at your back
May the sun shine warm upon your face,
The rains fall soft upon your fields
And until we meet again.....

What started as a simple idea—swim 750 meters in the chilly North Atlantic—has transformed into a profound mission to support the National Breast Cancer Research Institute. When I took on this challenge on January 1st, I had no swimming skills whatsoever. Yet, after hundreds of hours spent honing my technique, I’m ready to dive into these waters not just for myself, but for countless others.
Breast cancer has touched my life personally. I think of my mum and friends who’ve faced this battle. In the past, the prognosis was bleak, but thanks to ongoing research, we are witnessing a shift towards hope and healing. Your support can accelerate this change.
Even a small donation—a single Euro—could make a difference in funding crucial research. Imagine being part of the wave that drives a breakthrough. Your kindness can bring light to the darkness of cancer.
Let’s swim together toward a brighter future. Thank you for considering a donation and being part of this important journey.
Sincerely, S.
