I am undertaking a personal challenge in memory of my friend and neighbour, Doris Innes, who tragically passed away in April. Doris was an inspiration—quick-witted, fun-loving, and dedicated to staying active in nature.
Starting this May, I will be swimming 84 kilometers at Charlton Lido —one for each year of her life—over the course of 28 weeks. I plan to complete this challenge on November 19, 2026, which would have been Doris’s 85th birthday.
I am raising funds for London's Air Ambulance Ltd. Having witnessed their life-saving work twice in the last ten days, I am deeply moved by their ability to bring urgent, hospital-level care directly to the scene when every second counts. It costs approximately £2,200 for each mission they fly, and as a charity, they rely on donations to remain available 24/7 for the millions of people in London.
I would be incredibly grateful for any contribution you can make toward this cause. Your support will help ensure that this vital service is there for all of us should we ever need it.
Thank you in advance for your kindness and generosity.
