Scarlett has severe scoliosis, & although she’s been in multiple braces these last few years, it has rapidly progressed and now requires Halo traction and spinal fusion surgery to prevent further complications.
She will be admitted to Shawn Jenkins Children’s Hospital in CHS on Nov 11. They will start with Halo traction, which is a process where her spine is slowly being realigned using a metal frame attached to her skull. Immediately following, she’ll undergo spinal fusion surgery to stabilize and straighten her spine. Scarlett will be in the hospital for at least 7-8 weeks, & her recovery will be long and challenging. While timing is never ideal, & the holidays will look a little different this year in the hospital, we know Scarlett has such a brave heart, unwavering faith, & is ready for her back to be “fixed”! She is such a sweet, smart, Jesus loving 11yr old! Born 6 weeks premature with a very rare genetic condition, she’s been a fighter overcoming challenges since day 1!
As a single mom, Alli is doing everything to support her family & stay strong for Scarlett, but the emotional and financial strain is overwhelming. She will be with Scarlett 24/7 during her hospital stay, and through recovery at home. The challenges of juggling working, while being there for Scarlett, along w all of the other day to day with the boys and house, is daunting as a solo parent! We are humbly asking for help to keep things moving forward while navigating these next few months. Any donations will help support and alleviate the financial burden. Prayers are much appreciated! Your kindness will help us support Alli, Scarlett and the family!
If you can donate, no matter how small, it would mean the world to us. And if you can’t give, please consider sharing her story.
Thank you for supporting Scarlett on this journey.
