Sweet Homeless Family of 6

Donation protected
Yesterday I met a family of six on the streets of Huntington Beach who are living out of their car, my heart is breaking. I have walked past this family multiple times over the last few months and didn’t think much of it as I thought they lived in condos accross the street and were just getting in their car to go somewhere. I should have been more observant and maybe didn’t want to believe they were homeless. This week when my husband and I were walking, I noticed 2 of the kids going back in forth between two cars. One of the kids was sitting outside the car on a ice chest in the shade. She cought my attention with her sweet smile. I couldn’t get her off my mind the entire day. Yesterday I went back to where the family stays in the morning and introduced myself to the two kids standing outside the car. I asked them how they were doing and if there was anything I could do to help. The boy 14 responded “maybe some food but I am not sure”. I didn’t see any parents around at the time. This morning I went back and met the father and the two kids. The man was so sweet, we talked for a while so I could get to know him and his story. I also asked where the little girl was and her big sister said she is in the hospital at CHOC. Apparently she got a bad infection in her eye and is being treated with antibiotics.
This man says he has a job at a local gas station working the night shift. He did have two jobs but lost one of them because the business was shut down during COVID. I spent a good amount of time talking to the family asking what they needed and how I could help. They said anything will help (food, clothes, etc) he never once asked for money. I gave him some information on Soup Kitchens and asked his permission to call the homeless task force in HB and he said yes please help.
I took them perishable food, fruit, water, sandwiches from Jersey Mikes, dog food and some personal hygiene items. I want to do more, this sweet family is tugging at my heart. Jesus is calling my name to be vehicle in helping this family in anyway possible.
They have 4 children (boy-22, he is working, boy 14, girl 11 and girl 10).
. They stay once a week in a motel up in Stanton and that is the only time they are able to shower.

Looking for suggestions and other ways to help this family get back on their feet. The father said he is good with his hands and can do carpentry work and the daughter said she is a good artist.
