My name is Wichain Makhot

I am from Australia and I am currently a resident of Canada.


During my time teaching at an international school in the Middle East, I met Swami who was a custodian at the school and help teachers with any classroom maintenance issues and also ensured the smooth running of the schools facility.


After Swami’s wife passed away he was forced to move back home to take care of his son and daughter. He also has to take care of his ill father.
I hope Swami will use some of the money to send his daughter to university and assist his father with any medical expenses.  I am sure the money will also benefit Swami with any financial struggles he has encountered from the tragedy of his current situation.

I will be solely responsible for the withdrawal and delivery of funds to the beneficiary outside of GoFundMe, where I plan to use the money transfer service "transferwise" to securely transfer the funds in 5-6 instalments to his bank account in India.

During our time at an international school in the Middle-East, our days would undoubtedly involve the smiling face of Swami! He had been there many many years before most of us but still held himself with so much pride in his appearance and loving smile as we asked him to do the most mundane jobs that we could not do. He would never ask for anything and always held himself with smiling grace that would light up our day, no matter the task we asked of him.
The day Swami left our school many of us knew the difficult circumstances but not all the details. A lot of us who knew him but had left the school, had no idea what happened to our dear friend. 8 months later ‘Daddy’s Digest’ made this beautiful short documentary that helped us fill some gaps of the kind hearted Swami.
