Paul and I are raising money in aid of SVP Chorley Buddies and every donation will help them carry on the vital work they do. We will be cycling the Coast to Coast route from Whitehaven to Tynemouth.

Chorley Buddies was set up during lockdown by my parents Paul and Angela McBeth. Having called Chorley council to ask if there was anything they could do to help during Covid, they started offering phone support and shopping to vulnerable people who were self isolating. From just the 2 of them, it grew to a team of volunteers during Covid. During the last 5 years, the charity has grown to around 120 volunteers and whilst they still offer phone support and shopping/medicine collection, they also run 4 Good Food Clubs a week helping 1110 people access affordable food, run social activities for the vulnerable and isolated and a cafe.

The charity is now also linked to the national charity the SVP.

We wanted to do this bike ride as a small token of our appreciation for all their hardwork in setting up this charity and maybe inspire people to do something to help others!
