On 3/31/25 my mother went to a local hospital with concerns about loss of appetite, sudden weight loss and fatigue. While there she was run through multiple tests and screenings to be diagnosed with liver scarring. We were recommended and transferred to Corewell Health William Beaumont University Hospital where she underwent many scans, tests and paracentesis procedures. Things gradually got better, then took another turn for the worse. She was diagnosed with Chronic Liver Failure.
Unfortunately, she is not strong enough to survive through surgery and at this point, there is nothing they can do for her.
As of today 4/23/25 she has been stuck in the hospital for 24 days with no insurance. (She has been denied Medicaid multiple times before going to the hospital.) The Hospital wants to discharge her to a facility for care because I and my father work full-time. We have applied and found a location close to home that will take her pro bono while pending Medicaid.
We got stuck in between a rock and a hard place and now I am looking for help. Between regular bills, hospital bills and soon paying for housing in a facility the cost just keeps piling up. Me and my family appreciate any kind of support in these moments. Thank you for reading our story, please keep us in your thoughts.
On 04/25/25 My mom peacefully passed away, under the care of an amazing local hospice team. We appreciate everyone’s support during these hard times.
